1
Aim with the broomDrag on the ice to move your skip's broom. That's the line you throw at.
2
Pick the turnIn-turn curls right, out-turn curls left. The stone curls more as it slows.
3
Set the weightDraw weights say where it stops if nobody sweeps: Guard, Top 12, Tee, Back 12. Above that: hits.
4
Throw, then sweepRub the screen fast to sweep (Space on a keyboard). Sweeping carries it further and straighter. Stop and it curls.
5
Score the endAfter every stone is thrown, the team closest to the button scores one for each stone in the house closer than the other team's best.
6
The hammerThe team that throws last has the hammer. Score and it passes to the other team. Tied after the last end? Play an extra end.
7
Hog line and out of playA stone must cross the far hog line (the red line before the house) unless it hits another stone. Touch the side boards or pass the back line and it is out.
8
Free guard zoneEarly in an end, guards in front of the house are protected: before the sixth stone of an end you may move the other team's guards but not knock them out of play (Doubles: no stone at all may be knocked out before the fourth). If you do, they go back and your stone is removed.
